Sunday, January 30th

At the recommendation of one of the locals, we headed to the Vagabond Coffee Shop for Breakfast.  We were told to order the "Breakfast Steak and Eggs".  In fact, we were told it was the only reason to go there.  Apparently, everything there is good, but the steak and eggs was the best around.  Ironically, about 10 years ago, when we were last here, we did eat at the Vagabond, but did not know about their specialty.

The place was packed and the line to get in spilled onto the sidewalk.  After about a 20 minute wait we were seated and ordered.  For $7.95 we got 3 eggs, hasbrowns, fruit or home fries, toast and a 6 oz. grilled steak that was just heavenly.  Marinated, the steak was fire grilled just the way we ordered it.  This was a great, hearty breakfast and we will be back.

At noon we went to the San Buenaventura Mission Church for Mass.  This church is a beautiful old mission started in the 1740's.  The current building was constructed in 1792 and stands as a testament to the labor and craftsmanship of it's builders.  It is one of several missions constructed in this area.

Later in the evening it was family time.  We went to Camarillo to have dinner with cousins Vera and Marc.  A great dinner and conversation made for a wonderful time.
