Steeler Sunday

Except for the 78 degree temperature, this was almost like being at home for a Steeler playoff game.  One of the big differences is in the visibility of Steeler stuff.

Making the final preparations for the party, I went to Ralph's supermarket to pick up the chicken.  There were a quite a few shoppers and employees wearing football jerseys.  Fortunately, almost everyone wearing a jersey was wearing a Steeler jersey.  Additionally, most of those Steeler jerseys had #43 on them.  There is no doubt that the Steeler Nation is everywhere you go.

By 3:00 Judy had set the buffet table and the guests had arrived.  Cousins Vera and her husband Marc, Vera's boys Brian and Dominik and Dom's wife Maryanne.  It was so good to see the kids again.  Kids, might be a misnomer since they are adults with careers and families now.  Too bad Heather and Justin couldn't make it.

Kickoff was a bit past 3:30 Pacific time.  For the next three hours it was the traditional yelling, screaming, laughing and finally celebrating another Steeler victory.

Pittsburgh will be making it's record tying 8th appearance in the Superbowl.   Already owning the record for most Superbowl wins at 6, a victory on February 6th would put them two wins ahead of Dallas and San Francisco who each have 5 Lombardi trophies.

For your listening pleasure I am sharing some Steeler songs pulled from the internet.
